168 [Chapter] thirteen - Okay I'm just going to say it, I kinda don't like the husband so it's frustrating to see all of the focus on him. First, it was the kale and the socks was the nail for me.

[Chapter] eleven - I'm more comfortable with the story, although they use the word cancer a lot, I just looked and it's 138 times, including cancerous and Cancerversary. I'm still hoping despite what the blurb alludes to.

Page 33 of 312 [Chapter] three - I really need to start reading blurbs. I have loved everything I read C. Oakley so far so I didn't even think about it. I mistakenly wrote Before I Let Go as the excerpt at the end of the last book and I realized it was actually Before I Go, I just thought oh that's different. On the first page, I learned the MC has cancer, not my scene, but then I feel a mournful vibe 1 ½ chapters in

A very realistic depiction of a couple’s journey as the young wife is diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, again. Not knowing how long she has to live, Daisy is trying to work out how to navigate as her brain is affected and she is trying to figure out how to make her husband happy after she goes. It really showed how one can overthink what to do instead it of just living in the moment.

May, A Year Later - When the writer decided to devote a single chapter to Jack, it pretty much softened the dislike I developed throughout the book. I think she could have given more space to him, interspersing chapters or something. Unfortunately, the book did not please me.

May, Chapter 23 - Daisy has created a bubble around herself, trying to keep her husband away from the painful part of her treatment - which is odd because deep down, she wants him close. She is paranoid over Pamela and Jack's closeness, and her best friend is a nonsense girl. Confusing plot.

April, Chapter 17 - Daisy is annoying me with her excessive preoccupation with Jack and Pamela (the girl she thinks is perfect for him). One minute she is determined, the next, she is sorry, and the next, she takes out her anger (more in thoughts) on Jack. I am developing a dislike for her.

March, Chapter 13 - Daisy continues her search for an ideal wife for her husband. At this point, she seems to have found a good candidate. However, neither her husband nor the girl knows this. I wouldn't say I like the direction the book is going: Daisy is canceling herself out and overvaluing her husband. Sad and annoying.

February, Chapter 7 - Daisy then set her priority before she died: to find a new wife for Jack. I know there will be twists about this, and I can't hide my discomfort with the idea. Is anyone capable of loving so much to think about it? It seems like pushing it.

February, Chapter 5 - Cancer symptoms are advancing quickly, and Daisy shares some devastating news with Jack. At this point, I can say that the reading is flowing well, but I do feel a bit uncomfortable with Daisy worrying about Jack staying single. He is an adult, and she is still alive - there is a shift in priorities.

Chapter 3 - We have a couple haunted by the return of breast cancer Daisy faced years ago. With the revelation that cancer has returned, the couple's plans are threatened. The climate of exaltation (perhaps pity) Daisy feels for her husband’s feelings is disturbing me.

Repetitive and boring. Dying cancer patient is obsessed with finding her replacement while her husband avoids her working from early in the morning to late at night on a dual PhD. Thinking she found the right woman to replace her, she assumes they are already having an affair while she is dying and pretty much left alone. In the end Oakley quickly tries to tie things up with a ridiculous ending.
