Sins of Violence, the third and last short story, was pretty interesting. Really liked Ari's loyalty to free her sister from the clutches of the sinister figure of the Minotaur. Descriptions were top notch and it had a futuristic sci fi/fantasy world aspect to it. I wished it would have been developed into a full story/novel due to the abrupt ending. As I read this I was reminded by the Greek Myth of the Minotaur.

I don't know why but the Sins of Treachery really reminds me of the biblical story of Cain and Abel. Anyway this short story had to be my favourite so far. Really liked the themes of sibling rivalry as well as jealously and greed. The ending took me by surprise even though I sensed that Simon will be overcome by madness and wrath and get rid of his twin brother. A sense of adventure and mystery was there too.

Sins of the Flesh was well written although I would have loved go have read more about the detective when he encountered the lusty woman from the grave. I'd say this is mostly inspired by one of the Seven Deadly Sins, Lust. Really liked the eerie atmosphere o the story and the mystery surrounding being the author's corpse was truly horrifying and well done. Very good focus on imagery too in my opinion.

I've heard of the famous poem Dante's Inferno despite not reading it before. So I'm intriguer how this collection of short stories are inspired by this classic work of art. Plus the fact I was in the mood for reading something a little short.
