This is such a difficult book to read. I was very excited about the premise but the book isn’t very readable at all. Also, despite the fact the author references in the introduction the colonial perspective on indigenous communities, most notably the savage vs. innocent children, and how this is binary is very reductionist, he ends up doing it too. The final straw was the bit that was all about the bling.
