Status Updates From How to Say Babylon: A Memoir

This book is really really good so far. Five stars so far. I’m listening to the audio version, which is narrated by the author. I love her use of dialogue and Patois, as well as the historical background information and imagery. I’ve learned a lot about Jamaican history and culture that I never knew. Very interesting.

So glad I stuck with this book, it's fantastic. Heartbreaking but fantastic.

I CAN see why people like this book. Sinclair's writing is superb.

Audiobook is really lovely to listen to, read by the author. Difficult to listen to sustained periods of time though because of difficult subject matter.

such beautiful prose and so engaging. I know so little about Rastafarianism so I'm also learning a lot about Rasta culture in general but more specifically about her family's practices

Ohh this is making me mad

I don’t know anything about Rastafarianism nor about Jamaica so I’m glad this memoir starts with some context and history. Very interesting so far. The authors writing is almost lyrical and her voice so soothing as I listen.

Didn’t resonate with this. Couldn’t finish it.
