Was NOT expecting this level of radical introspection from Tolstoy but I’m here for it

I learned after starting that this is the book that led to Tolstoy being excommunicated. He had definitely thrown off any fears about criticizing — well, everything. The prison system, the church, the wealthy land owners of Russia… This book ain’t pulling its punches
