Bit too complex for my liking. Should have said this in far fewer words.

There's a hole in the middle of people where they hide, which is a basic part of their identity. The hole and the rest of us live together. One is made up of silence and the other of words. Each part is both known and unknown to the other. It's a kind of a paradox, but it's the normal state of our complete being. To want to hide and want to reveal are present at the same time. The hole is chaos and the rest is sane.

Hard to follow at times and saying things I disagree with at times and totally missing a trick with the neuroscience that supports his argument at times but apart from that, it's insightful enough.
