Doğup büyüdüğüm bir şehir romanda geçtiğinde, metnin kurduğu dünya ile benim zihnimdeki gerçek şehir çakışıyor. Yazarın İstanbul’u, benim İstanbul’um değil. Özellikle benden önceki dönemler anlatıldığında, şehir tanıdık ama zaman yabancı oluyor; bu da yabancılık ve itiraz duygusu yaratıyor bende. Sınav nedeniyle bu kitabı mecburen; zorlanarak, büyük bir çaba ile okuyorum.

So much of this novel seems to be a philosophical treatise on art, I find those passages much slower going! This is not a book you can rush
