Status Updates From The Rules of Royalty

The book is a mess. The romance between the boys is going good, the plot though… The plot sometimes circles back to being boring and useless for character development or circles back to being interesting, a dive in, a great ponder about the characters and their future. If i had the opportunity to travel back to the time before I started reading and had the opportunity to make a decision, i would still read it.

This book is a roller coaster… an adventurous sort, let’s just say. It’s sometimes fast, sometimes boring, some parts questionable. Like for example Erik’s and Jamie’s decision to be only making out in private areas is more then dumb. Tell Erik to man up and tell the queen he likes the boy. Just the whole book seems about Erik’s foggy, melancholy relationship with Jamie and his family. No exploration.

Okay, I take my words back, this is super addicting. I wonder what Erik does!

The book lost it self. The plot is now oblivious and slow, with chapters that literally just express the boys bonding. Like where are the stakes?? No point of chapters It’s just literally “Oh my god, what is he thinking?” - I swear if they keep me waiting till the last chapter with this bullshit I’m not reading it

The plot is getting good, but not great. The dialogue between the boys are realistic, which I heart fully appreciate. The only thing that has bothered me is the poor environment. Everything feels so unexplained.

Love it. The plot is going great and I love how the author is sincerely telling snd embracing the characters, love to see where it leads!

Low-key would be so funny if Erik has been completely blowing this out of proportion with his anxiety and his family is like “nah it’s cool if you date, would actually help strengthen relations tbh”
