Swallowing the Sun feels unnecessarily long and stretched, with repetitive death plots that lessen its emotional impact. Characters like Arjun and Govind are barely discussed, despite their potential. Although Malati and Kamala are introduced as strong figures, the narrative ultimately focuses only on Malati, leaving the rest underexplored.The novel has potential, but uneven focus and pacing hold it back.

Lot of unnecessary description. Seems like the author wanted to flaunt all the knowledge of different languages, literature and history she has in this one book itself. Veryyyyy slow. Unnecessary usage of difficult and old language.
Only pro being short chapters!!
