Status Updates From Devils Kill Devils

Really struggling through this one so far… 😣

Sarita is pissing me off!!! The only thing she’s been doing is directionlessly entertaining thoughts of scaring ghosts to prove her power. Also I can’t name really anything about her personality except that she daydreams about power, and is now acting on it to harass the local supernatural beings.

Ugh the potential is so cool. The roar in her ears is the prayers of a thousand devout followers??? The horror of being Mary Magdalene!! That’s awesome! But the momentum keeps getting gutted by long ramblings and sarita hasnt, like, done anything yet. Except daydream about weaponizing Angelo.

Herrah’s descent into being a monster is honestly really cool. But still, this is a vampire cult novel and I was hoping for a character based novel centered around a guardian angel who doesn’t understand human morals and a vengeful woman. All sarita has done is ask Tori to tell her some vague things about spells. After that awesome line in ch1!!!!

So so wordy. Some of it’s beautiful but it’s really stalling the progression. Also, Sarita is less cool than I thought she was at first (she went on about wanting revenge? We’ve been dithering?) also I was most excited about Angelo but we’re halfway through and have barely heard anything more about him
