Status Updates From Jane and the Genius of the ...

The problem with setting this book aside for so long is that I had to backtrack and reread a bit to remember what was going on. I had been reading it on my phone as I nursed, but I haven’t picked it up since I weaned four months ago.

I think part of why I’m not as engaged with this book is because I’m reading it so slowly. If I were going quicker, I would be following the story better and enjoying it more too.

The going continues slow because this mystery just does not grip me the way the previous books in the series has.

As all of this series has this far, this book has a slow start. I know from how much I have enjoyed the other ones, that it will be worth pushing through names and characters and places to finally get to the intrigue and mystery.

With each book we get to meet more of Jane Austen’s family and real life connections, and I am finding that fascinating. So far the stage is being set.
