I almost want to say I'm grateful my parents aren't like Emil, but, in some ways, they are...While they never shied away from their culture after immigrating here, they never taught me the language and our country's history following the same line of reasoning that I'm Fil-Am, "more American", so what happens there doesn't affect me or shouldn't matter to me.
