This book and concept has soooo much potential!! I think if the book had started from the Prologue and continued without a time jump seeing the characters develop individually Nia’s fights with the council and Job as well as Cross’ interactions with healers and Job instead of a time job straight into character insta lurveeee

Let me preface this with I don’t usually read books under 4 stars. I’ve learnt my lesson and consumed enough subpar books. However, I Love Cassandra Gannon’s works. BUT I don’t want to read this book, I want to read book 3 and 4 of this series and I know, I know these can be standalones but the context and premise is not the same in the slightest!!!

Poor Cross. Just open up buddy!! It’s okay to not be alone.

this book is entering its peak cringe phase in the romance between Cross and Nia and i can't say that i'm here for it bc i'm not

fated mates trope always tends to be insta lovey and insta lusty but i don't think i'm the biggest fan of the trope anymore but this is still a fun time

This is a cover buy and a cover read mostly but the premise and the concept seemed very interesting to me and so we shall see how i'll like this

Yikes, why is this so hard to read? It makes me drowsy like a textbook does. I’ll read a few more chapters, but if the info-dump and mega-works building doesn’t stop, I’ll probably DNF this one. And so far, there are way too many characters with their own POV’s. And it feels like two separate love stories?

Having trouble finding books worth finishing lately…this is a promising start.

I like how story came first. Nice build up. A lot of secondary characters--sometimes got confusing. Set up for next books
