One thing about the author of this book: she FUCKING HATES Andrea Dworkin and she WILL make you aware

So far so interesting! Using for research on my play <3

Really compelling and well-written. There are a lot of very clear parallels to stuff going on in fandom right now, as well as the obvious ones to anti-queer legislation, particularly the attack on trans people.

add: The vagueness of "pornography" as a political category; what counts as 'pornography', based on who's standards? And how that category has been applied legally and linguistically in practice

examples on non-sexual or non-erotic things called "pornography"

I've read some of Dworkin's and Mackinnon's works while reading this, and I can safely say that they are some of the most *sensationalistic, *hypocritical, pieces of shit I have ever had the displeasure of reading, whose view on women (and men) are *monolithic, *oversimplistic, and *just plain false. *That they refuse to debate anyone who disagrees with them doesn't help
