Recipes are excellent. The rest of it, not so much.

I bought this in a used bookstores recipes section. And so far I love the recipes. But the rest, not so much. This book is dated, so I have to give it some grace, but I find myself googling to find out what happened to the programs s they are discussing, and the predictions they make. And so far it’s not so good…..

This book was published in 2003, just two years after September 12th. Only 24 pages in and I’m already seeing parallels to 2022. Replace “Sept. 11” with “COVID” or “the Russian invasion of Ukraine” and you have the same effect. We need hope, we always need hope. Encouraged and excited about this book!

A gift from Woo to encourage me my learning in cooking, but somehow it turns to be a surprise that the book is about stories of food production & virtues of adopting a vegetarian diet, which is more the reason I love this book than just a cook book!
