Status Updates From A Piece of Cake

Gigantic trigger warning. I loved the cover, looked it up, saw the high Goodreads rating, barely skimmed the back cover and saw “foster care” (which is an issue close to my heart), and snagged it off a used bargain shelf. So far, it’s making “Precious” seem like a Disney channel movie, but now I’m knee-deep in it and going to see it through.

Immediately drew me in. Hard to read some of the saddest parts but honoring the author by holding space for her story. Very interesting book about resilience.
