The fact that we make excuses is clear evidence of how strongly we believe in the “Law of Nature” or Right and Wrong. If someone claims that they do not believe in Right and Wrong, but then make an excuse for an action, it highlights their desire to make it seem like they are doing what is Right. Their need to explain their action away is a giveaway. Anywho really good first chapter already!

so far, reading this book, i’m a tiny bit confused, but as i start chapter 3, it really does dig deep at our moral compass and where it comes from, what we think is the “true right” and the instincts in us as humans. super interesting and i’m excited to continue on.
