Oh my God, that ending!
That actually got to my heart! It was my favorite kind of ending. Bittersweet.

WHY DID THIS HAVE TO BE THE ONLY GOOD BOOK IN THE TRILOGY!?

Ness and Emil's futures are secure now. That was a bittersweet scene for Maribelle and Tala.
What's next for Brighton?

We've hit the epilogue.
Brighton managed to do something good and save the day, but now he has to turn himself in? I mean, it's technically the right thing to do, but I wouldn't mind him going on the run.
Also, Maribelle has been absent for the past 10 or so chapters.

We're heading towards the climax finally.

Emil actually did that.

The retrocycling scene and the one after it between Emil and Brighton has to be one of the best in this trilogy. I really don't know what these boys' futures could be.

I do love that Emil doesn't want to kill Brighton after all of this, he still wants his brother back. Whether or not Brighton can turn a new leaf after all the death he's caused will remain to be seen. I'm not sure how he can bounce back from all of this, but I have loved his character.

Had a big all cry. Got a feeling this is going to keep me up all night.

I knew Emil would come back!

I figured that would happen, but it there still managed to be emotional weight to it.

This celestials versus specters morality thinking, while a bit more nuanced than the previous books, is still very one-sided and not thoroughly explored.
Also, I cannot believe that happened to Wyatt.

Yeah, I really don't understand why the Spell Casters are against killing their enemies and got on Brighton about it. Tala just did it and no one batted an eye at her.

This is genuinely sad.

I am still Team Brighton after all this, because the others aren't really making any good arguments for not killing Senator Iron.

Wow. Brighton actually has a soft side.
And holy shit, he just brutally killed people.

We finally see what happened with Keon.

Back to Emil versus Brighton.
While I do still think that some of Brighton's villainization is forced, it does make sense for him to act the way that he does now.
To be honest, I can see both sides of Emil and Brighton's feelings on everything.

I'M ACTUALLY GRIEVING RIGHT NOW. WHAT THE HELL. NEVER TRUST ADAM SILVERA WITH YOUR HEART.

Atlas is back!
Prudencia and Brighton had an intense scene together and hopefully he and Emil will make up.

Alright, Adam Silvera, I'll admit it. You're making me care about these characters now.

Oh, shit....
I was not expecting that. I'm not gonna lie, Silvera is tugging at my heartstrings here.

Despite Emil's tension-breaking political ran towards the end, I have to admit that was a cool fight scene.
