Status Updates From If I Ran the Zoo

Notes:
(1) While vivid, creative and funny (for youth),
the silliness gimmick gets long in the tooth.
- Just nonsense on nonsense and, albeit fine,
I need more than rhyming and kooky designs.
(2) Now, the obvious issue, the imagery here
is modern-day-iffy and doesn't endear.
- I wouldn't say "racist," but "racial" is fair,
while shocking at first, well, I really don't care.

Only a three star for this one, as the rhyming was mostly based on invented beasts' names and Seuss could have done much better.

Yep, that’s racist, but he the text and the pictures.

From the web: Dr. Seuss Enterprises did not specify which illustrations were offensive, but four of the titles contain cartoon depictions of Asian people, while three contain stereotypical portrayals of Inuit.

The illustration is quite uncomfortable to see. It looks like a big nose ring rather than big lips.
