The language and sentence structure make this a rough read, but I’m determined to finish to get a different perspective on the folktales I’ve already learned about from other sources.

I picked this book up at a thrift store, since I'm always interested in learning more about fairy tales and folklore.
I didn't expect the first story ("the Children of Lir") to have such a sad ending. Was interesting in that the story starts in the pagan days of Ireland and ends nearly a century later, when much of Ireland has converted to Catholicism, though.
