Visions of Tris' fight in the beginning of being part of Dauntless...Divergent (granted I've only seen the movie so far)

After Dad died, I despaired of fielding sympathy, retreated inside myself, and let Umbriel deal with everyone on my behalf. I'd once been talkative, but I soon realized that words wasted my breath.

If I'd read the book blurb, I'd have realized why she wasn't talking I guess.

Her personality reminds me of Katniss' prickliness.

"We'll be fine," Umbriel tells her. "Maybe Shelter's not as bad as people say."

He's wrong. It's worse.

I'm not entirely sure why, but this seriously irritates me.

So far I really enjoy this read.

Man, I'm torn. The writing's good, but this just seems like a hybrid mash-up of every other dystopian YA I've read recently (particularly Hunger Games & Red Rising...and kind of even Divergent). I really do want to like it. Hopefully I'll be given a reason to as I get further into the story.
