The Further Adventures of characters you love, and have read and re-read over the years, come in three styles - either the pastiche is so close it's almost like coming upon a new book by the original author; it's nowhere close to the original stores, but takes them in new and interesting directions; or it's a clumsy job that feels like not-good fanfic.
