While this has been a very informative read on some of the history of Taiwan and it’s interesting to hear some of the backstories that I’m sure could be based off real people’s lives, I’m still waiting for the actual mystery solving to start. Am I being too impatient here?

Book is slow. And what’s up about the cringy praise that us is so much better and Taiwan is just a shithole? US is not religious and superstitious? The president literally put his hands onto a bible when they are being swore in. US doesn’t have corruptions? That’s just an outright lie. Either the author is whitewashed or he has some serious internal racism going on.
