It started good, but I’ve lost interest.

Easy to follow, written as one continious «article» with no start and stop at the beginning and end of a chapter, something I enjoy

Dividing one number by another is more computation; figuring out what you should divide by what is mathematics

Nonlinear thinking means which way you should go depends on where you already are.

Mathematics the bane of my existence. I don't like to read a paragraph multiple times to understand it -mostly due to my own insecurities- but so far this book taught my so much about our everyday interactions that I have no problem reading a sentence 10 times to understand a concept.

I like it but, I am taking a v long time to finish this; caution ⚠️ his explanations are so long, and I do occasionally get lost because it seems like it is taking forever to get to the point. Sometimes I feel like he is trying to embed a point repetitively (annoying really). It is not the type of book I'd recommend to all

Completed the first chapter
Read about the Lafler’s curve and how the relationship between tax rate and revenue is non linear
Learned about non linear thinking “where you have to go depends on where you are “

I have just finished reading the introduction and so far it seems that the book will provide an interesting insight into how maths can be used in everyday life.
The introduction is solid and manages to engage the reader into further reading of the book

Speaking about the probability of there being a God: [Y]ou can’t deny that there are aspects of the natural world -I’m thinking of pandas here- that seem more likely to have resulted from grudging bureaucratic compromise than from the mind of an all-knowing deity with total creative control.

Always read the footnotes! “More details on these studies can be found in the ‘Journal of stuff I totally made up in order to illustrate my point.’”
