Okay stating the obvious here, but there is a progressive liberal bias in this book. Maybe because of the initial chapters railing agaisnt judicial activism i might have missed that this is a very liberal leaning examination of the challenges to American democracy. Nothing wrong with that, just need to re-orient my reading intake when i go over my book notes.

this is depressing. Also much of the offers to correct are insanely impractical. The system is not going to fix, it will implode/explode and it doesn't have to happen one before the other it might just happen the same way. he paints such a bleak picture. so far the radical individualism and inequality chapters resonated most with me. apathy to a degree as well, they had practical aspects to them.

Wow. Given the recent SCOTUS decision, this chapter on the Imperial Judiciary seems surreal. Everything being discussed in the chapter as being a threat to American Democracy, as posed by the unelected SC putting itself above Congress, seems to be playing itself out.
