It’s amazing how little we thought about things out there. We saw our boys being mutated and burned. We saw how them like that and we learned to hate. We didn’t learn to think.

can’t do everything like everyone else. I can’t live that way. Maybe it’s all ridiculous. With the war. But I’m a romantic kind of person. I think that I’ve never really lived, and I’m not living now. I’m always dreaming about life. Inventing it, picturing it.

The birds aren’t afraid of death. They sit and watch. The children aren’t afraid of death. They sit and watch too, calmly and curiously. Like the birds.
