The Marin Sorescu-Paul Muldoon team spoofs the bible's story "Genesis" in "Shakespeare" & Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" ("Two Roads Diverged in A Yellow Wood") in "Symmetry". In the former, Shakespeare creates the world as well as his play characters in 7 days; in the latter, the 1st-person narrator chooses multiple time between the left or right roads, invariably choosing the wrong one. Also "Destiny" & "Chess".

Poetry literally translated from Romanian then created anew by an Irish poet. Intro speaks to the Celtic link between the 2 countries & to Romania's history. Cezar Baltag-Derek Mahon speaks to me in "The Unicorn in the Mirror", "The Last Stop", "Echo in the Seed", "The Interior Umbrella". Equally excellent, too, are poems by Ana Blandiana-Seamus Heaney & by Mircea Cǎrtǎrescu-Medbh McGuckian. Alliteration & Quotable.
