Status Updates From Fear

Really good book. I need to read All quiet on the western front and see how it compares to Fear. Just a brutal depiction of what life was like at the Front during ww1.

Back at the front he’s been running commands to and from the trenches. His squad has moved multiple times and spent an extended stay underground while under heavy shelling. Soon after he charged an enemy position, which resulted in a few extra feet of territory and a quarter of his comrades.

He went home for a few weeks after recovering from his wounds. Then he was sent back to war, but this time to trenches that aren’t constantly in contention.

He saw a lot of suffering and pointless death at the front. Then a tin grenade blew up at his feet and peppered him with shrapnel. Now he’s at a military hospital away from the fighting.
