Estrogen Replacement Therapy for Perimenopausal women sounds amazing. The book lists all the benefits. Reduction of the risk of alzheimers, reduction of cognitive decline, anti-inflammatory effects in the autonomic nervous system

Norepenephrine, Cortisol and Serotonin. Very interesting. I just find the whole "functional medicine" very dubious.

Finished leaky gut and gluten chapters. The hook is extremely repetitive, and it recommends caffeine enemas. Weird.

Every one of these health books go on about gluten. I am intrigued by the science of gluten intolerance, but not the hype in going gluten free

This book feels borderline alternative medicine. And too many positive case studies it feels lacking in negative case studies

Most of the time I skim through health related books and look for just the key information but so far everything in this book has been worthwhile and informative that I don't want to skip anything. Really need to read every chapter to get the full picture. I was worried that this book would be too complicated but Dr. Datis writes in a way that even those with poor functioning brains can understand.

"Bob, 52, was a truck driver. He was 200 pounds overweight, had severe depression, diabetes, anxiety, panic attacks, literal demons crawling out of his asshole, and after years of visiting doctors and alternative health practitioners, who had prescribed him anti-depressants and dozens of natural supplements, I put him on some stuff I won't specify here. Within weaks he was cured." This one-sidedness is getting old.

This book is so good that I first listened to the audio book & then bought the paper book which I just started.

Ok, perhaps a better read than an audio book so I could see the spelling and look up some items mentioned, such as nutritional additives and vitamins and hormones ect
