Status Updates From NOT A BOOK

I enjoyed this. Not every thing grabbed me, but over all it was good.

The wakes home by contrast (to spirit) is full of sociability and people gathered together. In a way it feels more familial that the supposed good guys.

"Funny thing. Freedom actually felt terrible." It's shifting again in a way I didn't expect. Very interesting.

"There's no reason to the titles we have or the roles we play, because inside, we're all really somebody else."

This feels like it's heading in a direction I hope it's not heading into. That said, I'm really liking these characters, Azel and Sera. Azel is interestingly complex, the way a great anti-hero can be. Sera also balances between dark and light.

The Spirit (mistakenly called angels by humanity) defend humans from the Wake (misnamed as demons). The Spirit live on a planet of sulphur, a burning world, which is unexpected for a people who believe themselves good and keepers of the balance.

Prologue was beautifully written, but confusing as I didn't have enough sense of the character or their world. It's getting clearer with Chapter 1. An interesting take on god and spirit and universe.

He came for her, oh my. I'm in love! It's like an anime movie running through my mind. Truly enjoying this ebook.

I'm loving this world! Sera seems like an outcast among spirits, only to find out she was never meant to belong but to be hidden.
