I remember reading this for Yr7 English class... Revisiting to see if to keep on my shelf or if it's time to pass it on

Still really good! I wonder if there's more of a religious undertone of the bones/overall story being told. My two favorite lines I read were "The more she was ignored, the more confident she felt" (70) and "Could they [the Taliban] have feelings of sorrow, like all other human beings?" (80). The perspective of a child empathizing with them as a means to understand the taliban was such a painful but profound detail.
