His essays on Marxist and post modern thought are dated for sure (1993) but his piece on critical legal theory is more timely today than it probably was then-wonder how many of todays progressive ideologues even understand the starting point and how we’ve arrived here .

Challenging, illuminating and highly engaging. I find myself astounded by West’s intellectual breath and brilliance while challenged to understand all that he describes among his varied topics. His vocabulary alone demands attention and a good dictionary. Am committed to reading more of his work and especially what he has to say post 2010.
