better than the movie. not sure I would have cast Jason Bateman as Judd; Jane Fonda was perfect.

Saw that one coming. Now just wondering what will happen between the two of them.

Dit boek is zo geweldig. Tegenwoordig ben ik met zevenendertig andere dingen ook bezig, daarom gaat het lezen wat trager. Alleen daarom. Want nogmaals, dit boek is zo geweldig. Maar later meer daarover!

I wouldn't have thought this story could get any funnier or sadder but it did! I am enjoying Jonathan Tropper's witty writing immensely.

This book is both realistic and a little ridiculous at the same time. But I am really enjoying it!

I drove all the way to Washington DC and back so I used Audible. It was only my second audio book. I can't say I cared for the style of reading but I got past that quickly enough. Maybe it was the fact that I was listening to it only days before the first year anniversary of my dad's death - making it feel very timely - but it struck me as so very real. The characters struck me as real and touching. And it was fun.

Everyone who recommended this book talked about how funny it is and they were right. I love the humor. But Trooper really nails how lifeels can wear at us and our relationships. Perfect example: "Sof we lay there funkier through our resentment, our thoughts wandering as we rubbed mechanically against each other -for warmth, or intimacy, or maybe just base gratification, our minds a frenzy of disconnected thoughts

Penny was always recklessly attracted to grand romantic gestures. She dreamed of Richard Gere in his navy dress whites carrying her out of the factory, of telling Tom Cruise that he had her at hello.
Le sigh...well not on the Tom Cruise part. I would punch him in the face.

There is nothing more pathetically optimistic than the morning erection. I am depressed, unemployed, unloved, basement dwelling and bereaved. I face the same choice: masturbate or urinate. It's the one time of the day where I feel like I have options.

The question, in the simplest form, was this: How far up Wade Boulanger's ass could I jam a chocolate-strawberry cheesecake with thirty-three burning candles and one for good luck?
Pretty damn far, as it turns out.

Great, but the narration can only handle 1x.

Read a little bit before class. Then, coming home, I heard "When I Was Your Man" by Bruno Mars and it reminds me of a couple parts from this book.

Narrator has my ears puzzled. On one hand he perfectly captures the apathetic, damaged narrator BUT it also causes my head to register it as white noise. *pay attention*
