No estoy segura de poder creerle a alguien que se autodenomina nahual tolteca pero vivió toda su vida en California y se dedica a lucrar del neochamanismo dando pláticas a gringos con necesidades espirituales. Ah, y comparó la religión y el veganismo con lo mucho que puede a uno gustarle un partido de fútbol.
Prometí que iba a leer sin prejuicios, pero me la están poniendo difícil.

I kind of fell victim to wanting to read actual ancient Toltec philosophy, and this is more new age. Not really my bag, but it is making me aware of some things in how I view beliefs and interactions from there.

Receiving clarity throughout the pages as I am uncovering, redirecting, and moving through my attachments.

When I place myself in a safety zone where I feel secure, when I believe something must stay in its rightful place, exactly as it is, for me to be ok, I have become attached to it, and if that thing changes (everything does eventually) how do I react? If I place my sense of self in it, then I have to defend it, argue for it. Uncomfortable darkness of not knowing

Imagine.. you didn't like yourself, that would be a tough life because there no escaping yourself.

Nobody will ever know what it is like to live life through your point of view. You're alone, born alone and will die alone. You are the only one who is with you your entire life.

Este é o resultado direto da domesticação pelo amor incondicional. A aceitação é a recompensa da domesticação, enquanto a rejeição é a punição.

À medida que nos envolvemos com a vida, é natural que nossos níveis de apego aumentem e reduzam, como uma flor que abre e fecha continuamente com o passar dos dias. Às vezes deixamos de lado nossa consciência quando aumentamos o apego a um foco, e outras vezes lembramos da nossa autenticidade quando nos livramos dele.

What a good reminder that all of the labels and connections to where I assign importance can act as a barrier to learning from others. I still cannot expect others to lift above the smoke, but I can manage my own expectations and the agreements I make with myself and the world around me.
