The cessation of pain and pain perception.

finally getting into biotechnology ethics.

It's a shame to read about my fellow scientists falling into ideological bias toward animals. The Animal Welfare Act doesn't consider rats, mice, or birds as animals (luckily the NIH uses common sense and does). Scientific research and ethics are not mutually exclusive.

finally finished that chapter on human research... very disappointed from what I've learned... not too shocked, just disappointed at our own ignorance.
