Didion has this spellbinding way of writing in circles, so that the narrative is not linear but rather circular, undulating, like an ocean whose tides continue to rise and fall, returning back to themselves. This style is not typical and objectionable to some, but I find it poetic and mystical. I savor every piece of Didion that I read, every piece that we have left (RIP).
