Reading the sequel to my kids. I did not realize that this book is over 100 years old. Very cool.

Met up with the Scarecrow again. :) So far I don't think it's as good as the first one, but it's only just starting really. I'm not saying I'm not enjoying, because I am enjoying it! Just not as much as the last one.

Yes, I have started another Oz book! The first one was so good that I had to find and read the others.

Kai is enjoying this one just as much as the first one. It is his first series. He was disappointed at first that we wouldn't just retread the first one but he is loving it now that he has the concept of a continuing story down. He seems to be really enjoying reading it using the kobo app on the iPad and even recognized that Kobo was a "different spelling of book." I hadn't noticed that before.

I can't tell if it's the story I don't like or the horrid narration!

L Frank Baum could've used a continuity editor.

As a new mom with a 3 week old fussy baby, I love reading these Oz books because they're easy to wrap my sleep-deprived brain around and it's interesting to me to learn about Oz's history, being a long time lover of the film.

My first ebook OMG. Anyway, enjoying it so far; it has the same feeling as the first story in Oz, except with different characters. So that's nice, something old and something new!

That was a bit of an unexpected twist pulling a gender switch with a book written in the early 1900's. I kind of suspected that Tip would have some kind of connection to Ozma, but I didn't think that connection would be that they were one and the same. Interesting book. Not as movie friendly as the first one, though the movie was hardly matched to the first book it was based on.

So a kid, who lives in OZ makes a pumpkin guy and a sawhorse horse. His wicked guardian has powder that turns stuff to life, so Tip sprinkles it on them and off they all go towards the Emerald City. Pip and the wooden ones get separated and pumpkin head winds up in the Emerald City. Meanwhile, Tip meets up with a girl army wanting to overthrow the rulers of the Emerald City. who knew there were more oz stories?

I didn't know there were more books about Oz! This one is about a boy who makes a man out of wood & a pumpkin and a horse out of a saw horse and head to the Emerald City.

I just wanted to draw the parallel between the character H.M. Wogglebug T.E. and and the Humbug from the Phantom Tollbooth. Did Norton Juster base the Humbug on H.M. Wogglebug? They are so alike. Their only major difference is that they are from different, yet oddly similar, stories. Something to think about.
