The other thing crosstraining doesn't really address is if you are an "active commuter" normally right now I'd have a 2*30-45 min bicycle commute workdays 😭😭😭 *ahem* which would mean something different if I was also trying to fit in marathon training in terms of recovery? Sleep more I guess.

When he talks about the crosstraining I remember he's presuming an audience of people who want to run in order to run (or more specifically, people who want to run marathons) - not people who want to use running to supplement other activities. I don't want to run a marathon, maybe it would be nice to easily run 10km? But as a supplement to the rest of my lifestyle - not as the only thing in my life.
