Different kind of story right there. I enjoy his writing, but it seems like I don't know the meaning of every third word. I used context clues, but there's a lot to learn.

Wow I really liked that. I was expecting a grueling death. Instead I was delighted with the ending of hope and everlasting presence.

Welp, the battle was fought and the battle was won and Buck, the beast is champion. Man, he wasn't even scared, didn't blink an eye, but felt so right, so alive, for the first time perhaps. I have been surprised at the unforgiving conditions the protagonist, Buck, has lived through. It is interesting to see the perceived feelings of a dog through a man's lenses. This is a book where I cannot just read it in one sitting as the material is so heavy. I find myself reaching for it when I have the mental capacity to take on uncomfortable things. I have been debriefing after each chapter. Will keep reading.
