Honestly. Brother in law is in high school and said this was a really good read. This is the last time I take his opinion. This was only 190 pages and it took my 7 days because I was so fucking bored. Good rating is out of how well it was written.

prompt 9/24: i really like the characters that my author made and introduced because they seem to be around my age so i can relate to them more.

prompt 9/29: he create tension when Mitty find a book with a envelope and in the envelope is old smallpox scabs that disintegrate and he inhales the dust. This makes us wonder and think if Mitty will get smallpox.

Mitty is in honors biology and has a report due in 16 hours. He is just starting to work on it. In a book he has to read he found scabs saved in an envelope. He is wondering why the scabs are saved.

This book took a HUGE turn in the time spans of, like, maybe 3 or 4 chapters.
I really like this book.
Not only is it gross, but it’s actually a really good book.

This is really juvenile, more than I would expect from a book being set in high school. Not too sure about this writing style, either.

I’m marking Speak and Code of Orange as currently reading, because they are both super quick novels. Since I do not have electronics in my bedroom, I cannot add each one on its own after I finish one of the two, this is just easier in case I finish both, or finish one and start another etc. Hope this made since!!!

Am I supposed to feel sympathetic for this main character? Dude’s the laziest MC I have ever read. He has something not just against reading, but work in general. The least amount he can do, the better.

There’s also a LOT of telling-not-showing, and I just don’t care about a spoiled rich kid.

If anything, I’m more worried about the potential people he’s already infected.

My book takes place in a presentday New York. This affects the plot because if Mitty was born out in a suburb in Texas, then he would have a different personality/ culture, and go to an entirely different school, maybe he would not have to write any essays, which is a large part of the plot. Also, he could have been born in the future, where he never wrote essays. Mitty maybe would have flied to school in the future.
