Status Updates From Code Orange

My book takes place in a presentday New York. This affects the plot because if Mitty was born out in a suburb in Texas, then he would have a different personality/ culture, and go to an entirely different school, maybe he would not have to write any essays, which is a large part of the plot. Also, he could have been born in the future, where he never wrote essays. Mitty maybe would have flied to school in the future.

Mitty is a very proud and hardworking. For example, Mitty finished his project early, and the teacher even said himself that no one usually finishes early, showing the side of him that is hardworking. Mitty is also very proud because he came in there with a smile on his face and told everyone that he has already finished. He took a lot of pride in his essay since he worked so hard to read and research about smallpox.

First, the chapter started off with the narrator describing sort of a murder, then we realize that he is talking about a plot in a TV show. Then the character later tells us about smallpox and the reader gets to find out some information about it, in addition, 'we' get to read part of his paper.

The main character, Mitty has a crush on a girl named Olivia. Their relationship is a bizarre but also normal relationship. Mitty is sad because he will no longer be in a class with Olivia which seems a little bit stalkerish. However, it is also normal because he is just a teenage boy who wants to be with his crush.

My character is a very observant person. Mitty realized that the teacher gets that people cheat, and he realized that some students pick topics and them read books online, but only the first (and free) chapter. These observations are good for him because Mitty learns what to/ not to do when dealing with his research paper, so he does not fail the paper because his teacher thinks he's cheating.
