Status Updates From Chasing the Sandman

So far, I'm not a fan. The author's prose is gripping, and I'm definitely turning pages, but the stories aren't quite terrifying. Most of them so far alternate between ludicrous and unnerving- admittedly.

I think the problem is largely a fascination with jump scares, combined with the desire to make every story a psychological horror as well. Hopefully there's some improvement-I'm only a fifth of the way done!
