topic:inciting incident: The assassination of an Austrian duke who went by Franz Ferdinand in 1914 was heavily investigated and after a few days, the Austrian government decided that Serbia, a foreign country south of the Austria-Hungarian border was responsible for the assassination. The Austrian government sent ludicrous demands to Serbia as reparation but Serbia refused, and the first war of world war one started.

topic:setting: IN the current stage of the book, the setting is in the Balkan area of Europe which consists of modern day Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia. In the current time, the ottoman empire owns much of this area. The Balkans interests the Brits because of the strategic importance of it, it holds the Bosporus which is the only way Russia can trade by sea.
