This post-apocalyptic tale has the human remnant choosing between life in violent tribes and life in religious cloisters, with the religion reflecting some true remnants of the pre-apocalypse alongside some creative building of the sacred from barely understood artifacts. The author effectively asks what is it that humans really need and want once the 21st century luxuries have been tripped away.

Está começando a ficar interessante outra vez.

Despite lots of free time this was the first I was able to get myself to sit down and read since my move. Fiat Lux seems to be hitting a climax and I’m intrigued to start the final section soon.

Metade do livro e está legal, mas nada como a primeira parte.

Halfway done here and genuinely so intrigued to see how things will play out. Incredible book so far and hopefully I’ll chip off some of it on my flight tomorrow.

This was one of my favourite books when I finished it a couple of years ago and this reread has only confirmed me in my opinion. The Monks of the Abbey of Saint Leibowitz still manage to drag me along their explorations of religion, morality and philosophy after the Flame Deluge that engulfed the world
