Pretty interesting so far. The Innocent Mage is not really the naive and cute type, he's more of a innocent in terms of the politics and the magic (and as any poor fisherman going for the first time to a big city)

Asher has spent his first year with Prince Gar, and he's realiing that he may be falling in ilove with Dathen. The King has fallen ill, and Gar has been asked to take his place in the Sea festival in Asher's home town...

it has an old medival twist to it. not one of my many tastes but I enjoy the main character Asher.

Asher has seen Prince Gar dispencing justince, and has been asked by Gar if he will consider being his assistant for his position for the Olken adminstrator. Matt and Dathen feel guilty for manuplating Asher into working with the "usper's" familiy...

Asher has left his fishing village home, and has found himself a job in the prince's stables...

okay this is definitely not going to be resolved in 39 pages I fear a dreadful cliffhanger in my near future

oh god. how much worse is it goin g to get? I wasn't expecting this book to stomp on my heart and leave it in a corner to die

okay I need to talk to someone else who has read this book because I can't be the only one who was completely knocked over by the good ship Garsher

wow this books is a lot longer than I realized... so much for catching up on my reading challenge

I am about to throw this novel. I am mad ... and that ... is not a good thing ... you are on my nerves right now ...

*sighs* Is it sad to say that the uppity jerk face of an assistant is my favorite character ... because he is an uppity dick face .... >.>

I should have started sooner I forgot how hard it is for me to read high fantasy ... the putting off starting the book should have been a clue ... *sighs* I WILL PUSH THROUGH THIS!

Because juggling TWO fantasy novels seems like a brilliant idea!

While it started real slowly, It's the first time I se a vilain that is actualy clever. All of them so far where powerful but not devious. Needless to say, I'm delighted :)

Got back to this in the last couple of days and actually can't stop thinking about it. I can't guess exactly how it's going to play out, which I love and which is rare for me with fantasy.

So I have 3 comments about the book...
1. I love the world!
2. This is not the typical story by any means, but I love the characters regardless.
3. If you ever read this, I highly suggest the audio books I could never get those accents out that way, and it makes the book AMAZINGLY COLORFUL!!!!

Aaand stalled because my Kindle's broken.

And now I remember why I loved A Blight of Mages! Epic fantasy with characterization and humor. LOVE.

Really enjoying this so far! It's kind of like a more bouncy and uplifting version of Robin Hobb's farseer trilogy...not as efficacious, but certainly enjoyable!

So now that finals are drawing to a close and winter break is starting, I can get back to my reading at last. This has been sitting on my shelf for awhile. Whoo.
