Just updating this to say that this book is hard to sit through. Split response from me. Half makes me think "wow, great character writing, nice exploration of themes", the other half makes me feel like I'm in an atheist subforum back in 2014

I'll finish this when I have a free moment. Egan books always have a Thing, and I want to find out what that Thing is
