Status Updates From Axiomatic

"Axiomático" y "La caja de seguridad" de los que más me han gustado por ahora.

Por ahora mantiene un nivel magnifico. "Eugene" y "La caricia" me han gustado algo menos pero aun asi son muy buenos.

Los dos primeros relatos me han parecido sublimes. Es mi primer contacto con Greg Egan y tengo unas ganas terribles de seguir leyendo :)

No desprecies las imitaciones... la vida está compuesta de imitaciones. Cada órgano de tu cuerpo es reconstruido constantemente a su propia imagen. Toda célula que se divide muere y se reemplaza a sí misma con impostoras. Tu cuerpo no contiene ni uno solo de los átomos con los que naciste... entonces, ¿qué te dota de identidad? Es un patrón de información, no un algo físico.

Creo que no hemos perdido nada; más bien, hemos ganado la única libertad que siempre nos faltó: ahora el futuro da forma a quiénes somos, al igual que el pasado. Nuestras vidas entran en resonancia como las cuerdas de un instrumento musical, ondas estacionarias formadas por la colisión de información fluyendo hacia delante y hacia atrás en el tiempo.

A kidnapping and the walk. Wow.

I've really only encountered one or two stories that didn't grab me so far. What a great collection. Like true classic hard sci-fi, these stories are timeless philosophical problems with tech-y wrapping.

enjoying these stories so far! Egan does a lot of world building for such interesting and different futures. He seems pretty cynical, though, and he has a lot of interest in fate.

Csak a "Learning to Be Me"-t olvastam, de a többit most nem akarom. :)

OK ideas but doesn't quite satisfy. Sort of like not quite three dimensional enough,

Look. If you're like me and enjoyed binge reading sci-fi short stories as a kid you're going to love this. Read it!
