Tiene un tono muy clásico pero su ritmo narrativo es bastante ágil. Las páginas pasan sin que te des cuenta.

Must confess: I'm jelly of people who can just whistle past this graveyard of flaws. They must enjoy a level of immersion my skepticism disallows. This doesn't play by its own rules and I refuse to nod along like a thrall. Ever read a Superman comic and thought, "Why doesn't he use X,Y, or Z power instead? That's me with Skafloc, the whole time. And where's the dumb sword?

Are humans the center of the universe? They frikkin' must be because fay have no <spoiler>souls. Apparently, they are little more than murder hoboing, wallpaper paste, apparitions? </spoiler> How could they not be when the Norse and Fay pantheon are making a mythos sandwich with "The White Christ: Jesus."

Lost count of the errors, how can they have no fear of gods when Odin went hoofing by, earlier. Such hubris! Such complete disregard for self editing, even though he rewrote it. I'm now reading this as I would an epic poem, knowing full well: it sucks, it's contradictory, but somehow people still insist it's important.

This book is self-contradictory already. Even though it's the sixteen years after, update. I don't like how it reads like 60's Sci-Fi. If it weren't appendix-n, I'd give it coin toss odds as a DNF. I hate it when the world falls apart in the first ten pages. Now, I'll be looking askance at it for at least another ninety pages. Yech.

I love the fact that the world isn't made up. Parts take place on England, Finland, Ireland...And yet, Anderson makes it all seem like an entirely different universe.

Wow, these elves are badass.

Reading it, it sort of reminds me of The Children of Hurin: same dark tone. But even Hurin is comparatively tame to this one. Loving it so far!

Wow. More Dunsany and Howard than Tolkien or Lewis. By far. I like the prose and the crudeness of the story. Eager to continue!

Un libro de fantasía pura, con una narración que recuerda a los libros infantiles pero con una mezcla de poesía. Lo poco que he podido leer hasta ahora me ha encantado. Eso sí a Imric no puedo dejar de imaginarmelo como Lee Pace

È la vecchia danza di guerra. Immagino che dovrò fare lo scaldo, perché nessun umano è in grado di eseguire questa danza senza ferirsi, anche se conosce a memoria tutte le battute. Ballano al ritmo dei 99 versi dello scaldo: se non si ferisce nessuno, allora è ottimo presagio; se muore qualcuno significa disastro e sciagura. La minima ferita è sufficiente per decretare la sconfitta...

La notte mi si sta richiudendo addosso, la triste commedia della mia vita è giunta al termine. Ho perso casa e famiglia e la mia stessa anima, o forse non li ho mai avuti, e capisco di essere stata un'ombra proiettata dalle grandi potenze che stanno soffiando sulla mia candela. Buonanotte, Valgard, buonanotte.

se puso interesante aunque se parece bastante a otras obras de fantasía como las de Tolkien

Un comienzo lento y un tanto aburrido pero en el 3 capitulo ha mejorado el libro
