5-stars are confining on books like this. 1 or 2 denote feedback on less well-enjoyed literature, 4 or 5 obviously denote excellence, enjoyment that is through the stratosphere. 3 cannot possibly denote all other degrees of appreciation but that's all we are left; especially those who don't explain via reviews. I prefer this novel to volume 3, to which I'll at least give 3 for being creative. But neither is a 4!

At last, I got somewhere in this novel. I have reached past the middle point, where most novels retain our interest no matter what shortcomings there might be. I think there should have been some realistic demonstration of despair over breaking an $80,000.00 antique vase and by now, no person with an untrained dog would have values out! Nonetheless, let's see how this mystery finishes.

I'm retrying this series with the correct novel that is volume II. This couple is well-known for writing "70 books since 1999" and many of them interest me and are owned by me. Now that I am reading them, their hasty speed shows. Their ideas are wonderfully-varied but the writing could do with a lot more editing and enrichment. Speed shows. I'd rather produce fewer books at a higher literary and writing quality.
