I’ve read a little under half of the Epistle of Clement, and can confidently say that I’m in new reader-territory. I’m familiar with the canon of the New Testament, so when I started reading another ecclesiastical epistle of the first century, I expected only the same. It would turn out instead that, unlike the epistles of Paul, this one is a whopping 65 chapters long.
